Christmas Joy at Tilbury Pioneer Academy...

Tilbury Pioneer Academy’s recently set up ‘Friends of Pioneer’ Parent Association, held their first ever Christmas Fayre at the Dicken’s Avenue school recently, officially opened by the Mayor of Thurrock, Councillor Steve Liddiard. With Christmas stalls, bouncy castles and an extra special visit from Santa, the event was a resounding success and raised in excess of £730!

Not only did the stalls and special activities go towards raising this fantastic amount, local grandmother Mrs Revell bravely offered to have her head shaved to help raise more funds. Mrs Revell said, “I am so impressed with the progress of my grandchildren’s reading so far this year, I wanted to raise money for the school so they can buy more books.”

Head of School, Mr Dan George, said “Tilbury Pioneer Academy’s first Christmas Fayre was a huge success enjoyed by children and their families. I would like to say a special thanks to the Friends of Pioneer for their hard work, and to Mrs Revell for being so brave!”
