Friends of Pioneer

FOP

We are a group of parents who have been meeting in the parents’ room since September 2014.  We have replaced the PTA – Parent and Teachers Association. Our new name is ‘The Friends of Pioneer’.

We aim to work alongside Tilbury Pioneer Academy to support our children’s learning journey, hoping to make it as positive, interesting, happy and safe as we can.

We want to offer the children and parents of the school new opportunities, information and support in a positive and informal way. We are a very new group and we are still finding our feet - we want you to know who we are!

We also want to welcome you to join our group, and we would also like to hear your ideas and input on what you and your children would like to see at the Pioneer Academy, and to make their time happier.  Please complete our questionnaire here and return to the office with your views/ideas.

You may have seen our new noticeboards around the school grounds advertising events. We also have a suggestion box in our reception area. Soon there will be pictures up on the boards so you all know who we are! We have achieved some great things so far, some of which you can read about on the left hand side of this page under the title 'Friends of Pioneer' - we have been in the press quite a lot!

We have painted the school and also some of the benches and flowerbeds, you may have seen this. We have tidied up the school grounds and cleaned the drains.

We organise Bingo Nights, Christmas Fayres and Pamper Evenings to name but a few.  We would also like to build a nature garden. We want to expand some of the after school activities, all suggestions are welcome!

But we need you! We think fundraising is important and the money we raise will support our children, whether its football kits, new toys, books, days out, bouncy castles, flowers and plants for the school flowerbeds or a vegetable garden.

In the past, the PTA has raised money to buy our children their own Numicon bags to take home. Tilbury Pioneer Academy is the only school in our area to have them.

Please come along to one of our regular meetings. If you are unable to attend, please email us and we will forward you the minutes of the meetings. You can also leave us a letter in our suggestion box which is situated in our reception area. You can also view our upcoming events and further information on our notice board outside the entrance to the quad.

New people are welcome (you don't have to be a parent to help!). It's always appreciated, whether this is to help out at events or to become a committee member.
