Water Safety

TPA RNLI 0

Pupils at Tilbury Pioneer Academy were recently treated to some important life saving information from RNLI’s Educational Volunteer, Mrs Tricia Gurnett.

Pupils were thoroughly enthralled by the visual aids that Tricia brought along to help them understand and take ‘on board’ the words of warning about their own safety when near water.

Tricia said, “I was so impressed with the way the pupils listened so well and I must admit that they were the most engaged pupils that I have seen so far! There are more useful tips and information on our website www.rnli.org.uk/shorething

Head of School, Mr Dan George, said “I would like to thank Tricia for coming along to Pioneer to teach our pupils the importance of safety near the water, whether that be at the beach or by the river. I am delighted they were so engaged and hope that they remember what they were taught!”

Our school and where we live are very close to the River Thames so it is very important we know how to stay safe when we are in and around water. Click here for more information.
