Sport Premium Development Plan 2017-18

PE and Sports Premium

  • The Government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education and sport in primary schools.
  • Total amount of grant allocated to the school in 2017-2018 – Approximately: £16,000.

We have 5 key ways that we use Sports premium funding to enhance sport at Tilbury Pioneer Academy:

  1. To provide high quality teaching in lessons through collaborative teaching, planning review and support through the appointment of Sports coaches.
  2. To increase the number of competitive programmes – we aim to ensure high levels of our children participate in competitive interschool competitions, such as: Cross country, basketball, athletics, football, netball and badminton.
  3. To enhance our schools sports provision with a variety of sports being taught by trained coaches throughout the year, for all key stages including: tag rugby, rounders, badminton, basketball, dodgeball, hockey, table tennis, football, netball, swimming, indoor and outdoor athletics, cross country, tennis, gymnastics, dance, quad kids and kwik cricket with a focus on ensuring all children are water confident and able to swim at least 25 metres.
  4. To provide specialist coaching to enhance the children’s learning and assisting training of the staff for sustainability.
  5. To subsidise transport to large events to ensure that as many pupils as possible can attend interschool sporting events and swimming.
